The Embassy of Ukraine in Georgia strongly condemns arbitrary detention on 9th November 2019 of Georgian Doctor Mr.Vazha Gaprindashvili by the de facto authorities in the Georgian region of South Ossetia for crossing the so-called “border”.

We align ourselves with the EU statement on this pressing issue and demand the immediate release of Mr.Vazha Gaprindashvili by the occupation regime.
Ukraine fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its international recognized borders and reiterates of its position of non-recognition.
