On December 6, at 21:00, in the first hall of the Amirani Cinema, and on December 9, at 12:00, in the second hall, there will be held the screening of the film "Baby Yar. Context" by Ukrainian director Sergey Loznitsa.

Sergei Loznitsa takes viewers to Nazi-occupied Ukraine and, working exclusively with uniquely restored archive materials, shows us the background of the tragic events that took place just outside occupied Kyiv in September 1941 – the massacre of more than 33,000 Jewish residents.
The film premiered in 2021 at the Cannes Film Festival.
Sergei LoznitsaUkrainian director, screenwriter and producer Sergei Loznitsa was born on 5 September 1964 in Baranovichi (USSR). He grew up in Kiev, and in 1987 graduated from the Kiev Polytechnic with a degree in applied mathematics. Sergei Loznitsa went on to study feature film making at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow. He has directed 23 internationally acclaimed documentary films and 4 feature films. All the feature films premiered in the Official Selection of Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, Sergei Loznitsa launched a film production company ATOMS & VOID. Sergei continues to work both in documentary and fiction genres.
